The bees are buzzing!

Here it is - this year's shop hop block for Gathering Fabric quilt shop!

And three more:

Since we had to send 2 to be included in the shop hop quilts, I made 4 blocks. Three of the blocks have a butterfly print fabric, fussy cut for the bees wings, while the 4th has Fairy Frost wings, although everything else is the same. There is a little bit of hand stitching to enhance the design, while keeping the applique as simple as possible, and a couple beads for the bee's eyes.

Woodinville Wine Tasting - 2007 Shop Hop Block

Well here it is - this year's design for Gathering Fabric Quilt Shop reflects all the local wineries, some within walking distance of the quilt shop. This year they asked for a wine themed block, and while my first design was an applique block, they said that they had had many requests to have a pieced block. This one will be distributed with one template, rotary cutting and piecing instructions. If you live in Western Washington, or will be here visiting during June 20-24th, you should check out our shop hop. We have LOTS of quilt shops here, and each one you visit will provide you with an 8" block pattern, and some fabric to get you started making it. You can find the information at www.gatheringfabric.com, just look for the shop hop link on the left of the homepage.

Terrific Tote - Western Washington Shop Hop

Well, I've finished my shop hop version of the Terrific Tote. On one side is the railroad block, and on the other is the tulip block. The inner pockets are out of the print, but the lining is the blue ticking that I used for the straps.

Shop Hop Block for Gathering Fabric

Since they opened, I've been creating the shop hop block for Gathering Fabric. The first year's block and quilt is the reason I opened my pattern business. This year they decided they wanted to have a railroad theme for theWestern Washington Shop Hop, so the above block will be it! The block will also be one of the pocket choices for my Terrific Tote pattern, along with three more, for a total of 5 pocket choices. I'd better get back to finishing the others, so you will be able to see them too!
