More Paper Arts

Although I did finish a quilt this week, I can't post it yet because it is for a challenge, so I need to wait until I'm allowed.

In the meantime, I'll post some inchies that are extras from a swap that I'm participating in, and a coneflower ATC that I made for another swap.

C'est la Vie Chunky Book Swap

I've finished, and mailed my pages for this swap, a bit ahead of time, but this way I can get back to my quilting without worrying that I'll forget to mail them in time. Of course, these were scanned before I glued the front and back pages together, and added the dimensional embellishments - so if you happen to be in the same swap, there's a little suprise left.

I Love ARTchix sticker challenge entry

I made this ATC last night for the contest, so now I'll have to be patient, and see who the winner is.

ATC meets Chunky Book

Here's my page for another chunky book swap that I'm participating in. I can't wait until the bound books with other people's artwork come back to me! For this swap I needed to make a 4x4" page with a pocket on the back to hold an ATC. The only way I was able to get the pocket deep enough, was to use a 4x6" card and fold the bottom edge up 2", leaving me with a 4x4" page. Since I tend to glue separate front and backs together, the fold-up pocket needed to be upside-down when it was printed, and I found that I couldn't glue the two rectangles first, because it made it too hard to fold. I ended up folding the back page, and cutting the pocket portion off the front page and glueing them separately to the front and pocket of the back pages. The ATC was much easier - just glueing the front and back together! The finishing details aren't in these photos (too dimensional to scan), but after I finished glueing, I used a gold leafing pen to edge the card and ATC, and attached a ribbon tag and metal rose to the outer edge, at the side of the page.

In The Name of Love - Chunky Book Swap

Well, I'm trying another new thing - a chunky book swap! It's a paper arts swap where we all contribute 4x4" pages, and the person hosting the swap makes books from all our pages and returns a book to each of us. This one is sponsored by ARTchix, so it has some of their images, and the front and back of my page have a regular image (glass slide size) as well as some of their faux postage images. I mailed my pages off to the swap hostess, so now all I can do is wait for my book to arrive, so I can see everyone else's artwork.

Unphotographed quilt projects

Have you ever sent off your projects before remembering to take a photograph? I made postcards for Virginia Spiegel's FFAC project in Houston, and because of the deadline, packed them up and shipped them off before it occurred to me that I hadn't taken any pictures.

Well, now I've gone and done it again. I made a bargello wall quilt for my relatives in England, and with all of our storms and power outages, let my husband take it to them without thinking about pictures. Hopefully, when he returns, he will have taken a picture for me, and it can be uploaded.
