Crazy Quilt ATC

When I made some fiber postcards for the FFAC booth at the Houston Quilt Festival, I mailed them so fast that I forgot to photograph them. This is a fabric ATC that I made for a friend, and it is only 2-1/ 2" x 3-1/ 2".

Forever project final update

Well, since the signature on my project kept bothering me, and I thought I wanted more contrast, I just had to mess with it again. Other than being able to make the signature blend in more, maybe I shouldn't have messed with it again.... Anyways, I thought the title blended in, and the whole piece was too gold, so off to the paint shop I went. Since there wasn't any lighter bronzy color, I added a pearl white and pearl shimmer to my bronze to add more lights, removed the original signature as much as I could, then re-signed it, ending up with the upper photo. Now it felt too silvery - I guess I was just getting picky, but I decided to thin out some darker colors that I had used when I had painted the background with gel medium, then shaded around the corners. I also added more bronze (with less of the pearls) to the ladies to tone them back down a bit. It's finished other than adding varnish to protect it - finally!

Forever art project done???

Well, I've added several metallic highlights, and I liked it until I signed it - the signature came out too large, and now I'll have to try to fix it, if I can - if not, I'll have to live with it.

Forever art project update

Right now it's looking dark and dingy, but I'm only finished distressing it, and now have to wait for it to dry again. Once it's dry, I intend to add layers of highlights.

Forever art project

I've taken a little sidetrack, and am working on an art project for the Inner Child online class at www.joggles.com. So far, I am finished with the preliminary painting, paper clay faces, body shapes, and have done some work with some light molding paste and dipped laces into paverpol paste to apply. After it finishes drying, I will be able to finish with more layers of paint.
