3 ribbons - yeah!!!




It's official - I received 3 ribbons at the Block Party Quilt Guild banquet tonight! First place in Contemporary / Art Solo - Large for my Janet's Influence quilt (this one has been nicknamed the Ugly Duckling by me, because it was top that wasn't working for me that turned into a swan), First place in Contemporary / Art Solo - small for my 12" square Magic quilt, and Third place for Contemporary / Art Solo - small for my 8-1/ 2" x 11" Beyond the Secret Garden.

PS In answer to your question about the shawl, its fringe is a result of dropping the 5 border stitches and the "holes" that kind of resemble a run are wrapped stitches (a double YO). It's a free pattern on knit picks called Dropped Stitch Shawl and fun to do.

BTW, did you know that clicking on your name in your response takes one to your inavailable profile? At least that's what happened to me.....

Congratulations, they are all beautiful. Your silk ribbon work and embroidery is just wonderful in the Secret Garden. Is the wrought iron in the window stitched?

I am so thrilled that you have received this well-deserved recognition! Having watched the progress of the Ugly Duckling as you posted each new set of quilted flowers, I knew it was a show-stopper. They all are very unique and lovely.
