Tiny Baskets

These little baskets in progress will be finished and made into pincushion baskets for my booth at the Block Party Quilt Show in November.  Each is one-of-a-kind, and these include reed that was hand dyed by me in Sisters this past July.

Adorable! How will you weight them so they will be function-able?

I'm thinking I'll weight them by partially filling the pincushion with ground walnut hulls. This would not only weight them, but also sharpen the pins and needles that get inserted. The other possibility is making a separate bag of them to place in the basket, below the cushion. I'm sure a rock at the bottom would also work:-)
