Book Review - Skinny Quilts & table runners

I love this book! With designs from traditional to very contemporary, there are projects for everyone. Just like her first book, Eleanor has 15 projects from a wide variety of famous quilt designers, and as I turn the page I see a quilt that would either look great in my house, or a gift for someone I know. I’ve been wanting to take a class with Sue Benner, and here I find one of her designs to make and learn from. I also love Melinda Bula’s designs, and of course, there is a beautiful wisteria design of her’s to make! Recently, I’ve been bitten by the wool bug, and lo and behold, I find a Sue Spargo design. Last year I started weaving, and yep, there’s even a woven table runner in here, designed by Eleanor! There are also many quick projects, including designs by Karla Alexander, Judy Hooworth, and Jane Davila, who’s quit also has unusual metal accents.
Leave a comment on THIS POST by Monday, September 6th, for a chance to win a copy of Skinny Quilts & table runners II.

Hi Lyn,

I would love to have this book - have been thinking about making a long runner for my dining table for ages, and it would be a great starting off point!
Love your quilt, look forward to seeing it quilted..

All the best, Sue

Oh, I'm going to leave my comment with the hopes of winning this book. And if not I'll be buying it - I have a number of narrow walls that could use a skinny quilt. Thank you for offering it.

how annoying is that?! every time I see a book title here, I check out the libraries (online of course) in my county - and I can never find them here:(( the internet is a great thing, but it can also be very annoying to find things online - but not in real life:))

What I like about skinny quilts is that we all have skinny wall spots to put them on. They make for a quick project and fill a spot that might just need that little extra something!

I just love making table runners. Especially skinny ones, as they will sew together quickly!

Loved the first Skinny Quilt book. They are the perfect size quilts to hang on the wall or use as a table runner. Also, if you just want a quick fix, and need a quick project to make. Would love to see what book #2 looks like.

I like to make skinny quilts and table runners because they don't take forever to make them and they are easy to store. I like to change my table runners with the different seasons. I'd love to win this book and make some new runners--they'd make great holiday gifts too!

Totally awesome book, hadn't seen that one yet. I fell in love with tall and skinny quilts with pat sloans patterns.

Thanks for reviewing the book for us. It sounds like one that I would enjoy! And I like smaller projects because they are easier to quilt on a home machine.
